Cognitive & Memory Wellness

Sensory Garden Therapy & Dementia Calming Design

Our outdoor landscape is intentionally curated to soothe cognitive agitation, reduce wandering anxiety, and enhance sensory engagement.

🌿 Olfactory Botanical Stimulation

Planted with nostalgic Southeast Asian flora including pandan, sweet jasmine, lemongrass, and mint. Inhaling familiar natural aromas stimulates memory pathways, relieves stress, and sparks joyful reminiscence among seniors with mild-to-moderate dementia.

πŸ”„ Continuous Looped Pathways

Traditional garden dead-ends cause severe confusion and frustration in dementia patients. Our garden features continuous smooth circular walking loops that naturally guide residents back to the central living pavilion without encountering locked barriers.

β˜€οΈ Circadian Light Entrainment

Morning outdoor exposure to natural sunlight stimulates melatonin production, aligning natural sleep-wake cycles and significantly reducing late-afternoon behavioral restlessness and nighttime wandering episodes.

πŸ›‘οΈ Clinical Bedsore Prevention Protocol

For semi-bedridden residents, we enforce strict 2-hour lateral turning routines, Braden Scale pressure risk scoring, alternating-pressure ripple mattresses, medical barrier creams, and daily skin integrity inspections supervised by Dr. Tan.

Room Tiers Compared

All three tiers sit on the same single-storey floor plate with step-free access, daylight and emergency call systems. What changes is privacy, bathroom arrangement and proximity to the caregiver station.

Fees are all-inclusive and span the same RM 2,500 – RM 4,500 band published across our site; where a tier sits within its range depends on the level of nursing assessed at admission. High-dependency costs more than a private single because it consumes more staff time, not more space. Placement follows the clinical assessment rather than preference alone β€” a resident needing high-dependency care is not placed in Tier 1 because a family requests it. Rates are reviewed periodically; the figure quoted in your admission letter is the one that holds.

Who We Can Admit β€” and Who We Cannot

Being straightforward about this saves families a wasted trip. We are a residential nursing facility, not a hospital, and the boundary matters.

We routinely accept:

  • Post-stroke residents at any mobility level, including fully bedridden
  • Dementia at mild to moderate-severe stages, including wandering behaviour
  • Diabetes, hypertension and other chronic conditions needing daily medication supervision
  • Residents with feeding tubes, catheters or stoma care needs
  • Wound care, including pressure injuries requiring regular dressing
  • Palliative and end-of-life residents needing comfort-focused nursing

We will refer elsewhere for:

  • Acute unstable conditions needing hospital-level intervention or ventilator support
  • Active infectious disease requiring isolation facilities we do not have
  • Psychiatric conditions with aggression that would put other residents at risk
  • Residents under 50 whose needs sit outside a geriatric care model

If we cannot take your parent safely, we will say so at assessment and point you toward an appropriate facility. Where the need is intermittent rather than continuous, home nursing visits are often the better fit.

Staffing, Night Cover and Ratios

The question families most often forget to ask is who is awake at three in the morning. Our answer:

  • Waking night staff β€” not on-call, not sleeping on site. The caregiver station is manned continuously.
  • Dr. Tan on site for daily rounds and reachable outside them, rather than a visiting doctor who attends weekly.
  • Ms. Tay, pharmacist, overseeing medication reconciliation and blister packing so dosing errors are caught before they reach a resident.
  • Higher caregiver density around Tier 3, where residents cannot call for help reliably themselves.
  • Handover at every shift change, documented, so overnight observations reach the morning round.

Ask any facility you visit for the same detail in the same specificity. A confident operator gives you numbers and names; a vague answer about “24-hour care” often means on-call staff asleep on the premises. Our guide to choosing a care centre sets out the rest of the checklist.

What the Fee Covers, and What to Bring

The monthly fee is genuinely all-inclusive. Families moving from an hourly or itemised arrangement are usually surprised by how little sits outside it.

Accommodation, utilities and laundryIncluded

Deposit, notice period and payment schedule are confirmed in writing at admission. Ask for that document before signing anything, at any facility.

What to bring on admission day: current medications in original packaging, the most recent discharge summary or clinic letters, MyKad or passport, any insurance or guarantee-letter details, five to seven changes of comfortable clothing, and personal items that make the room feel familiar β€” a photograph, a favourite blanket, a radio. Our guide to the first thirty days covers what to expect after that.

Hi, my mother got dementia and she likes to walk around and get lost. Safe or not at your place?
Service Pro TeamVerified Expert2026-08-20
Hi En. Ahmad, wandering is one of the specific reasons families come to us, so the building is designed for it rather than fighting it. The whole facility is single-storey with no staircases, the garden runs on continuous looped pathways so a resident walking off never reaches a dead end or an exit, and exits are supervised. Waking night staff are on duty, not on-call, which matters because wandering often happens after dark. We work with the behaviour instead of sedating it, using daylight exposure and structured activity to reduce evening agitation. We do accept moderate-severe dementia including wandering. Send us a WhatsApp with her current stage and medications, and Dr. Tan will advise whether we are the right fit.
